Christian Dior has a new addition to their Dior Christal Collection, the tribute collection to the late Christian Dior himself. Of all the Christian Dior watches, it is the Dior Christal watches for women that are as much a piece of haute couture as they are a luxury timepiece.
The Dior Christal Mystérieuse, pictured here to the left, is a limited edition watch of only 100 pieces, with the number engraved into the crown. This exquisitely crafted timepiece has 80 diamonds.
Twenty-eight of these are set in a central ring that forms part of the screwed-in, transparent sapphire crystal case-back. The fixed bezel is also set with diamonds, as well as black sapphire crystal inserts.
The dial is made up of sapphire crystal plates with white and Tahiti mother-of-pearl, as well as black and gold metallizations. The hour and minute hands are gold polished and luminescent. The face is finished off with a curved sapphire crystal.
Even the electromechanical movement has been specifically manufactured for Dior. The stainless steel bracelet is set with three rows of black sapphire crystal inserts – the central row enlarged, and has a three blade unfolding clasp.
