Luxury watch manufacturer Longines has been praised by an expert for its history and timeless designs.
Consumers searching for the perfect luxury watch may be well advised to consider a model by Swiss manufacturer Longines, according to an expert writing for the Media Channel.Established in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz in the town of Saint-Imier, the brand has been designing and producing luxury timepieces ever since - with its portfolio including the world-famous La Grande Classique range.
Longines watches is particularly revered for its work in aviation watches, but it is in the sports arena that they first made history - it was the company's electric wire technology in 1912 that first allowed races to be accurately timed.
It has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games ever since.
Since Longines released its first luxury wristwatch in 1905 it has produced numerous updates on classic models as well as fresh and innovative designs.
The website states: "Never modified, continually used, constantly updated, the world's oldest registered brand name in watchmaking with its winged hourglass logo continues to produce luxury watches that highlight their belief in the importance of time."
Last month Longines announced it was to pay tribute to Philip von Worn Heemes - a US Navy captain - who produced the revolutionary second-setting watch by releasing an updated version of his design in white gold.
