I’m not typically a Louis Vuitton fan, but I must say their new Animalia Collection is beyond cute. This new collection that debuts February 2010 comes with a rich history within the Louis Vuitton family. Renée, the wife of Gaston Louis Vuitton, collected little wooden animal toys that the Vuitton family used to make 60 years ago. In 1954 during the opening of the Louis Vuitton Avenue Marceau store, Gaston dedicated the entire first floor of the store to his wife who turned her floor into a toy store that eventually closed in 1970.
Now 40 years later,Louis Vuitton has decided to create their newest collection inspired by Renée’s toy collection. This collection includes coin purses, clutches, scarves, and bag charms. The Animalia Coin Purses pictured above have animal pieces of Monogram canvas with snakeskin patched on to Monogram patent leather and comes in four different animals: squirrel, bunny, rooster, and songbird.
