In 1946, the horological company Movado announced a new chapter in its history: the brand released a remarkable collection of Calendomatic self-winding watches, equipped with a date exhibition window. The new brainchild of the watchmaking house is represented by the Red Label Museum Calendomatic watch.
Encouraged by its acclaimed predecessors, the newMovado watch is endowed with an original centre date disc. The convex window in the sapphire crystal serves to enhance the date, displayed at 6 o’clock. Discrete, yet ultra contemporary, this novelty from Movado presents its own set of surprises. One of them is the signature red “M “ chevron, revealed through the sapphire crystal back of the model.
Ticking inside this marvelous watch is the self-winding, ETA 2824-2 calibre movement, paved with 25 rubies. Its functionality includes hours, minutes and date.
The movement is housed in a 42 mm case, sculptured in stainless steel. It is assembled with a flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The case of the Movado Red Label Museum Calendomatic watch frames a black dial. It is equipped with silvered dauphine hands. The dial also exposes a round hour-marker, nestled at 12 o’clock.
The watch, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, is secured to the wearer’s wrist on a black alligator leather strap, finished with a steel buckle. The water-resistance of this model is down to 30 meters.
